Movies

I saw that some of my nieces and nephews were enjoying some of the movies on my brothers blog so I thought I could try that out.... they probably won't be as cute but someone still might enjoy them.

Some of us went to a show put on by the BYU Ballroom Dance Company. This was part of the best number featuring Link and Zelda as well as various other computer game characters.
Maggots swarming over trash bags of dead mayflies (they smell like dead fish). Hopefully this doesn't gross anyone out too much.

Here is a much nicer video. It was such a cute little bunny outside in the parking lot this morning.

Adventurous Not Stupid

This month I have been called insane several times. I've got a good friend that I've been hanging out with a lot. We play on each other's strange ideas. One day when we were playing in puddles... well actually we were building dams to keep the runoff water going into the storm drain... someone stopped and told us that we were standing in very dirty water. They had just seeded the area (well two days before, and those two days since it had rained pretty much all day). And I got thinking there were three options:
1) we are stupid
2) we aren't paranoid
3) we are adventurous
Personally, and I suppose unsurprisingly, we decided we are the second two. Not the first (at least most of the time).
So here are some of the things we've done.

  • Lay down in the middle of an intersection. (After dark, in a old historical town when and where there is rarely traffic).
  • Run around outside in numerous rainstorms and watch heat lightening in the distance.
  • Play in puddles.
  • Cook eggs in a mountain of ash from a 2 day old fire.
  • Play in mud hills.
  • Lick long dead animal's bones found in the dirt. (It helps you distinguish whether they really are bone or not, and is a widely used practice).
Tongue print still evident in the middle left.
  • Climb in a kiln. (Not in use).
  • Stalk a raccoon.
  • Run through a swarm of mayflies.

The thing is, we have been having loads of fun, sure we may not be overly cautious (like about lightening or dirt) but we aren't stupid. We didn't sit in the middle of an intersection during rush hour. We covered our hair while running through the mayflies. We didn't get too close to the racoon, etc.
We may be a little crazy but we aren't doing illegal things or trying to hurt anyone. Just fun, and curious. There's a difference. At least in my book.
